The Underwood Rockets posted a 3-1 (15-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-19) volleyball victory over the Hancock Owls on Thursday night.
“Hancock played a faster paced game than we are used to,” said Underwood Head Coach Breck Grove. “We struggled at the beginning of the match to get any kind of rhythm and Hancock put up a big block that gave us a bit of trouble. As the game went on, we picked up the pace and our net play improved. Our hard work and composure as the game went on is what pushed us through for the win. I was very proud of the team effort our girls showed tonight.”
Leaders for the Rockets were Amber Frigaard (15 digs, 15/15 serving, 1 ace), Brooke Hovland (17 digs, 16 kills, 10/10 serving), Brianna Evavold (13 digs), Ezrah Baker (12 kills, .647 kill percentage), Kallyn Grove (18 set assists, 12/12 serving, 2 aces) and Reese Richards (21 set assists, 15/16 serving, 1 ace)
The Rockets will host Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in a Little Eight Conference match next Thursday.
