Lydia Baker, Senior from Underwood High School has signed her letter of intent to play both basketball and softball for the M State Lady Spartans.

“Lydia not only will bring great talent to the Lady Spartans but also will set the tempo for work ethic and commitment,” said Steve King, head softball coach at M State Fergus Falls. “We are excited to have her and she will be such a strong asset to M State Fergus Falls as a student and the Lady Spartans as an athlete. It’s also special because her parents are Spartan alumni. Her dad, Adam, played football for the Spartans and was member of the state championship team. When I was head football coach, Adam was an assistant coach for many years. Her mom, Hope, played Lady Spartan volleyball for Coach Ann Williams. Lydia is definitely the type of student athlete we want in our programs.”

"I am super excited to add another post player to our roster,” commented head women’s basketball coach Jodi Holleman.  “I have watched Lydia play numerous times this past season and was impressed with her rebounding, defense, and ability to score in the paint.  She was well- coached by Brian Hovland throughout her high school career and knows how to compete and win.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to coach Lydia the next two years and watch her bring her game to the next level."
