The Ottertail Central 15U Babe Ruth baseball team improved to 3-0 at the State Tournament, scoring 5 runs in the sixth inning to seal a 6-3 win over Holdingford on Friday in Henning.  Drew Evavold turned in a fantastic pitching performance with 3 great innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory.  OTC now moves into the single elimination quarterfinals and will face division rival Barnesville at 5:00pm Saturday.

The game was tied at three with OTC batting in the top of the sixth inning when a fielder’s choice ground out off the bat of Owen Harig brought home the go ahead run.  OTC had 9 hits in the game with Lane Dilly going 3-for-4 at the plate and Kale Misegades adding a pair of safeties.  Gavin Pausch (2IP, 4H, 3R, 1K, 0BB) started on the mound and Misegades threw two innings of relief.

“What a great two days of ball for this team,” commented Head Coach Evan Meece.  “We played our best baseball when it matters the most.  We’ve had fantastic pitching, great defense, and timely hitting.  We’re going to use this momentum into the weekend and go compete for a championship!”
