Ashby-Brandon-Evansville hosted a Cross Country meet out at Pine Ridge Golf Course on Tuesday. “Since it went well with the Covid restrictions last year, we decided to continue hosting our own meet,” said ABE Head Coach Robert Bosma. “Though it was a smaller meet, there were a lot of great runners that showed up.”

The event started with a 5th/6th grade fun run. This included close to 30 runners who came to try out Cross Country. “It was a great sight of these individuals working hard to run a mile,” said Bosma.

For the girls' race. Ashley Paulson continues her strong season by challenging Erika Heibel from OTC.  Heibel (22:02.2) was the individual champion and Paulson (22:21.1) finished in second place.  “Before the race, Ashley asked what times other girls had run and wanted to push to be at the lead,” reported Bosma. “For most of the race, they ran side by side at a fast pace. It was great to see Ashley push herself to maintain this pace and taking 2nd is a great race.”

Tuyet Vy Bui (27:28.8) and Quynn Beherns (36:07.0) ran in the JV race for Ashby-Brandon-Evansville.
