The Underwood volleyball team registered a 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-19) Little Eight Conference road win in Battle Lake on Tuesday night.  “Our girls played a steady game tonight, which was a good follow-up after a Monday night game,” stated Underwood Head Coach Breck Grove

The Rockets were led by Elizabeth Lukken (13 kills, 13/13 serving, 1 ace), Kallyn Grove (36 set assists, 23/23 serving, 1 ace, 3 kills, 6 digs), Brooke Christianson (6 kills, 10/10 serving, 1 ace, 7 digs), Mily Albjerg (8 kills, 8/8 serving, 1 ace), Jorja Gabrielson (8 kills), Becca Johnson (7/8 serving, 1 ace, 4 set assists, 13 digs) and Alayna Evavold (3 solo blocks, 1 block assist).

“The Battlers had a slow start tonight and the Rockets came out swinging,” said Battle Lake Head Coach Jenny Roisum. “The Rockets played very clean in sets 1 and 2 while the Battlers struggled to get any offense going.  The Battlers were able to push back in set 3 behind Morgan Malone's hitting and Kenady Cameron's blocking.  The Battlers were able to keep set 3 close but just ran out of steam.”

Malone finished with 6 kills and 3 blocks while Cameron had 4 kills and 3 blocks.  Quin Amundson was 13/13 serving with 9 digs while Sophie Akerman dished out 18 assists.

Underwood (8-5) will host Brandon-Evansville on Thursday.

Battle Lake will travel to Wheaton for a conference match with the Warriors and will participate in the Barnesville Tournament on Saturday.
