The Underwood Rockets and Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Wolverines battled through four sets of competitive volleyball on Monday night with the Wolverines coming out on top 17-25, 26-24, 28-26, 25-19. “We started out playing some great volleyball in the first two sets, which caused CGB to make a lot of errors,” noted Underwood Head Coach Breck Grove. “We lost a close second set and then we started stringing errors together as the match moved on. CGB played with great energy which led to them coming out on top in sets 3 and 4, resulting in the win for them.”
The Rockets were led by Elizabeth Lukken (14 kills, 14/16 serving, 2 aces, 21 digs), Brooke Christianson (10 kills, 17/18 serving, 2 aces, 15 digs), Kallyn Grove (9 kills, 33 set assists, 18/18 serving, 1 ace. 6 digs), Mily Albjerg (8 kills, 10/11 serving. 7 digs), Jorja Gabrielson (7 kills16/17 serving, 1 ace), Sia Olson (12 set assists, 12/13 serving, 9 digs) and Becca Johnson (23 digs).
Underwood (8-7) will go to Hancock on Thursday.
Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley (11-4) takes a 4 game winning streak to Rothsay on Tuesday night.
