Rocket Girls Earn Single Season School Record with 27th Win

The Underwood girls’ basketball team earned their 27th win of the season, setting a team record for most wins in a single season, as they advanced to the Class A Girls State Tournament Consolation Championship game with a 60-43 win over Minneota in the Consolation Semifinals at Gangelhoff Center on the campus of Concordia University in St. Paul.

Mo Bugbee registered a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds, making all 7 of her free throw attempts.  Liz Lukken scored all 11 of her points in the second half and added 5 rebounds and 3 assists.  Kallyn Grove had a team high 4 assists to go along with 10 points, Zoey Swanson finished with 7 points and 7 boards, and Mia Blaskowski contributed 6 points and 5 rebounds

Minneota was led by 13 points from Grace Hennen and a double-double from Ireland Stassen who had 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.  The Vikings finish their season with a record of 21-10.

Underwood (27-4) will now face the winner of the game between Badger/Greenbush/Middle River and United Christian Academy for the consolation championship at 8am Saturday at Gangelhoff Center.
